MIGRATION
944. Dr M.D. NAHAN to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. I thank
the Premier for his non-answer. Why is the Premier refusing to come clean to
the people of Western Australia and explain to the state his position on
migrants? The state now has control over the regional sponsored migration
scheme and other aspects, and the proposal is to have that in the future. Why
will the Premier not tell us what his policy is?

Opposition, I call you to order for the first time.
Mr M. McGOWAN : The opposition
was out there with Pauline Hanson in the lead-up to the election, so I find it
a little rich to hear from the Leader of the Opposition. The Liberal Party did
a deal with One Nation and Pauline Hanson; the Liberal Party was out there with
One Nation and Pauline Hanson. Remember, Pauline Hanson does not like Asian
immigration. Remember that? That is what you were out there supporting in the
lead-up to the state election.
