I refer to the early release from prison of sex offenders. (1) Why did 72 of the 137 released sex offenders not attend a rehabilitation program while in prison? (2) What programs are available in prison for sex offenders, and who provides them? (3) For what duration do these programs run? (4) In the past five years, how many sex offenders have been through these programs, and how many have reoffended upon being released? (5) Why was a rapist who raped a 60-year-old woman given parole two years before his sentence was up? (6) Is it mandatory for sex offenders to be placed in rehabilitation programs; and, if not, why not?
