ROAD SAFETY, MINISTERIAL PORTFOLIO
I refer the minister to her statement in this House on 22 August 2001 that the transfer of road safety responsibilities from the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure to her portfolio was being made because of the machinery of government review and would be made in any event. (1) How does the minister reconcile this statement with the statement made by the Premier that the transfer of road safety responsibilities to the Department of the Premier and Cabinet was a result of the machinery of government review? (2) Is the Premier correct, or did the minister previously mislead the House? Mrs ROBERTS

(1)-(2) Unless I have missed something, I think the member quoted me as saying that the transfer was a result of the machinery of government review. I understand the Premier has said that, so there is no disparity.
