(1) In 2000/01, $60,000 was appropriated for the auditing of transport companies for compliance with the code of practice for Fatigue Management for Commercial Vehicle Drivers. Within budget appropriations a further $200,000 was made available by both WorkSafe and the Department of Transport ($100,000 each). The additional funding is being utilised for the engagement of two additional inspectors, together with the continuation of the enforcement and audit functions.
