I refer the Minister to the story on the front page of the
Ellenbrook-Swan Valley Advocate
on Wednesday, 11 November that states that the State Government is nearing a decision on relocating the mounted section of the Western Australia Police from Maylands to Brigadoon and ask:
(a) has the Minister had discussions regarding the relocation of the mounted section of Western Australian Police from Maylands to Brigadoon;
(b) if yes, when did these discussions take place and who was present at these meetings; and
(c) does the Minister support the relocation of the mounted section of Western Australian Police from Maylands to Brigadoon?

(a) I was advised by staff from Equestrian WA during a visit to the State Equestrian Centre on 4 November 2009 that discussions had been held by various parties regarding the potential relocation.
(b) At the briefing regarding the overall direction of the State Equestrian Centre were staff from the Equestrian Centre, staff from the City of Swan, the Member for Swan Hills, Frank Alban and staff from my office.
(c) Based on identified need and appropriate due diligence, it is a matter for the WA Police to determine the best location for their mounted section.
