I refer to the answers provided to questions on notice No. 2000 and 2001, on 16 April 2024, and question on notice No. 2060, on 12 June 2024, and I ask: (a) is
the Minister aware that the South West Region of Western Australia is one of
only two internationally recognised biodiversity hotspots in Australia, and one
of only 36 in the world; (b) noting
the need to protect this internationally significant biodiversity, how many
sites, by number and hectare, have been added to Bush Forever and the
Metropolitan Regional Park system in the following years: (i) 2020; (ii) 2021; (iii) 2022; (iv) 2023; and (v) 2024 to date; (c) since
the Government abandoned the Strategic Assessment of the Perth and Peel Regions, which aimed to set aside land for biodiversity conservation, what action have
you taken to protect the remnants of this unique biodiversity before it is
overwhelmed by urban sprawl; and (d) when
will the work at (c) be made public?
