I refer to the Auditor General’s findings in the Financial Audits of Local Government Entities report that there were 36 matters of non-compliance with various acts or laws and ask: (a) Has
the Minister or his department taken any action against the local governments found to have been non-compliant: (i) If
yes, what action was taken and when; and (b) Has
the Minister or his department identified any matters worthy of further investigation: (i) If
yes, what matters and which local governments are
involved?

(a) No direct action has been taken against local governments found to be non-compliant, as yet. The Department is reviewing the matter.
(i) Not applicable
(b) The identified matters are currently being considered to determine what actions to take. Possible actions include, but are not limited to, referring certain matters to the investigations section of the Department, or follow up directly with the local government for support and/or education.
