(1) I assume that your question relates to the former Wesfarmers Woolstore site, which forms part of the South Beach Urban Development. Yes, a site remediation and validation report is required for the site prior to backfilling, as per clause 3 of metropolitan Region Scheme Amendment No 1008/33. (2) Groundbreaking activities and filling have occurred in areas of the site for which clearance has been given by the DEP based upon Site Remediation and Validation reports and in areas which were found to be not contaminated. (3) Answered by (2). (4) For the southern portion of the site, the report was lodged with the DEP in 2 August 2001. The DEP provided clearance for the area reported in October 2001. For the remainder of the site, the report was lodged on 4 April 2003. (5) Due to the confidentiality of the reports, copies of all site reports are available through application via the Freedom of Information officer at the DEP.
