I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1)-(4) The Minister for the Environment and Heritage has advised that the proposal for long-term shell sand dredging by Cockburn Cement Ltd is currently with the Minister for the Environment and Heritage for a decision on whether the proposal may be implemented; and, if so, the conditions to which it should be subjected. The public appeal period on the Environmental Protection Authority’s report closed on 10 December 2001. The minister will consider the content of those public appeals, together with the advice of the Environmental Protection Authority, before making any decision on the proposal.
