In the McGowan government's
budget press release, the Premier states —
The
McGowan Government is delivering its plan for the Wheatbelt region, with
funding in the State Budget to create local jobs and support the local
economy, while delivering important community infrastructure and services.
(1) Of the $275
million announced for the Bindoon bypass, what is the breakup of state and
commonwealth funding?
(2) Of the $18
million announced to upgrade Great Eastern Highway from Walgoolan to Southern
Cross, what is the breakup of state and commonwealth funding?
(3) Of the $87.5
million announced for the wheatbelt secondary freight route, what is the
breakup of state and commonwealth funding?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(3) As is convention with regional road projects,
the federal government will be providing funding on an 80–20 basis. In
relation to the Great Eastern Highway Walgoolan–Southern Cross works,
the total cost is $22.5 million, and the state's 20 per cent
contribution is drawn from the wheatbelt safety review program on page 536 of
the budget papers.
