(1) Departmental programs that have been undertaken or initiated to deal with the needs of CaLD communities include:

DiverseWA
- An online training package developed to assist public sector and local government staff to develop knowledge, skills and awareness to work effectively with people from CaLD backgrounds. The package is continuing to gain positive feedback from State Government agencies and local governments.
(2) Programs that have been undertaken or initiated, in conjunction with the metropolitan local government authorities, and country and regional local government authorities, include
DiverseWA
as detailed above as well as:
· The 'Implementing the Principles of Multiculturalism Locally' guide for local governments - The guide aims to assist local governments to integrate multicultural initiatives into existing planning and reporting processes, in a way that best responds to the needs of CALD communities. The use of the guide is currently being evaluated by the Office of Multicultural Interests.
