I refer the Premier to his answer to question without notice 757 of Tuesday, 18 October 2004 in which he advised that the information relating to the ownership of shares by ministers’ spouses and dependent family members could not be provided as the cabinet secretary, who maintained the records, was absent due to illness. (1) Is it a requirement of the Premier’s ministerial code of conduct that the pecuniary and other interests of ministers’ spouses and dependent family members be provided by the minister to the cabinet secretary on a confidential basis; and, if it is, who, other than the cabinet secretary, is entitled to access the confidential information? (2) In view of the cabinet secretary’s illness, how was the Premier able to access and provide to the Legislative Assembly the share ownership of the spouses of the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure and the Minister for Justice? Hon KIM CHANCE
