ANIMAL ACTIVISM — SMALL BUSINESSES
280. Mr R.S. LOVE to the Minister for Small Business:
I have a supplementary question. Given the minister's
dismissive answer to the first question, is it his intention to wait until Western
Australian businesses are forced to close down before he acts? What will it
take for the minister to do something about the situation?

I am not sure what the member wants
me to do—don a balaclava and break down the doors of vegans'
houses or something in anticipation of them doing something wrong in the
future! What was the —
Mr W.J. Johnston : The Minority
Report .
Mr P. PAPALIA : The Minority
Report —that is what we want! We have an innovative minister over
here looking for research and development. Perhaps we can develop our own Minority
Report computer to predict which vegans are going to do the wrong thing and
break down their doors and drag them off to prison in advance. It is a ridiculous question. I cannot believe the member is
pursuing this line of questioning. It is embarrassing for the National Party —stop
it!
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members!
