I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. (1) Yes. Installation of duress systems are complete. Testing to confirm accuracy is in progress. The system is expected to be fully operational by the end of March 2008. (2) Not applicable. (3) No. (4) The Bentley facility was the first facility to be tendered. The preferred tenderer was required to install a sample test area of the security system, which has been completed. Required accuracy at point of call—the physical location at which the device is activated—could not be satisfactorily demonstrated. An alternative system is undergoing testing and is believed to meet the specifications required. Once performance can be demonstrated, an accurate assessment of an installation timeline can be provided for Armadale and Fremantle. New expected time frames are dependent upon confirmation from the Department of Housing and Works and the contractor’s schedule.
