State nominated migration program
405. Hon Rod Caddies to
the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Skills and TAFE:
I refer to the state
nominated migration program.
(1) Can the minister advise how many tradespeople
were recruited by the Construction Migration Office in 2021–22, 2022–23,
2023–24 and 2024–25 to date?
(2) Can the minister table a list of professions
the WA state government has requested under the state nominated migration
program in the years 2021–22, 2022–23, 2023–24 and 2024–25?
(3) In relation to the number of tradespeople
recruited by the Construction Migration Office referred to in (1), can the
minister provide details of what trades were recruited?
(4) Does the WA government monitor whether
migrants who come to WA as part of the State Nominated Migration Program stay
in the professions they were recruited for beyond six months?
The President: Honourable member, that question seems
to be seeking an awful lot of data and to my mind does not necessarily meet the
criteria of "concise", but we will see what the government may be
able to address.

visa subsidy scheme. It does not directly recruit tradespeople.
(2) The current list of occupations is publicly
available on the Migration Services WA website.
(3) I table the attached information.
(See paper 320 .)
(4) The Department of Training and Workforce
Development includes a measure of the proportion of state nominated skilled
migrants employed in priority occupations after arrival in its annual report.
