SOUTH COAST HIGHWAY
1267. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the current deplorable
condition of South Coast Highway between Ravensthorpe and Esperance.
(1) Has the state
government received any complaints regarding the current condition of the
highway; and, if so, how many and from whom?
(2) Have there been any safety-related incidents
attributable to the condition of the highway reported to Main Roads Western
Australia, the Western Australia Police Force or the Shires of Ravensthorpe and
Esperance?
(3) When was the last road safety audit and condition
assessment undertaken for the Esperance–Ravensthorpe section of
the highway?
(4) Why has the
McGowan government allowed such an important freight route to fall into such a state
of disrepair?
