AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) In 2013,
there were 285.8 full-time equivalents and in 2014, there were 293.50 FTEs as
at 11 September 2014 to date. This data is inclusive of all school
psychologists employed by the department, including school-purchased FTEs and
is based on payroll information.
(2) In 2013, 25
of the 25 lead school psychologist positions were filled and in 2014, 24 of the
25 lead school psychologist positions have been filled to date.
(3) In 2012,
there were 57; in 2013, 65; and in 2014, 66 as at 17 September 2014.
(4) Psychologists
under provisional registration must have assessment reports endorsed by their
supervisor.
(5) The
allocation of full-time equivalents is 9.95 in the Kimberley; 9.64 in the
Pilbara; 10.85 in the midwest; 67.1 in the north metropolitan region; 78.48 in
the south metropolitan; 10.81 in the goldfields; 11.15 in the wheatbelt; and
25.89 in the south west.
Please note that this data is
inclusive of all central allocations, but does not include school psychologist
FTEs purchased by schools. An additional two FTEs service private schools
located in the Kimberley education region funded through an agreement with the
Catholic Education Office of Western Australia. The figures do not include
specialist school psychologists not directly allocated to regions, such as
behaviour centre school psychologists.
