(a) The cost will be dependent upon the number of items purchased.
(b) The State Government provides funding to the State Library of Western Australia for the purchase of library materials for the State’s public library network. Many public libraries also receive funding from their local government to purchase library materials for their local collections.
(c) Public libraries are responsible for the development and maintenance of their collections to ensure they are relevant and of interest to their local community.
(i) Nil
(d) Items purchased to satisfy a request for a member will become the property of the local government that purchases the item. For small regional libraries whose stock is managed by the State Library, items purchased to satisfy requests will become part of the State-wide public library collection owned by the State Government.
(e) Public libraries are responsible for the management of their collections to meet the needs and reflect the interests of their communities.
