(1) Total audited actual expenditure (adjusted for capital user charge expenditure and the removal of the Training service prior to 2008-09, when the Department existed as the Department of Education and Training) for the Department of Education grew from $2,006.2 million in 2002-03 to $4,103.9 million in 2012-13, an increase of $2,097.7 million or 104.6%.
(2) The average annual rate of growth in education expenses over the past 5 years was 7.6%.
