OFFICERS — ABORIGINAL AND MULTICULTURAL BACKGROUNDS
1006. Hon KATE DOUST to the
Attorney General representing the Minister for Police:
I refer to the Premier's
media statement on 16 November 2011 that committed the government to increasing
the ratio of officers from Aboriginal and multicultural backgrounds within WA
Police.
(1) What is the
current percentage of fully sworn police officers from culturally and
linguistically diverse backgrounds?
(2) What is the
current percentage of fully sworn police officers from Aboriginal backgrounds?
(3) What target
is the government setting for each of (1) and (2), and within what time frame?
