(1) How many times has the Technology and Industry Advisory Council met since the former minister re-established it in December 2010? (2) How many times has the minister met with the board of TIAC since taking on this portfolio; and if none, why? (3) How many of the nine members formally endorsed by the board have resigned and for what reasons? (4) What process will the minister follow to fill these positions? (5) Is the minister aware that there is a prevailing view in the science and innovation community that this government continues to neglect this sector; and, if so, what plan does he have to change these perceptions? (1) TIAC has met with the former minister twice. (2) The minister met with the chair of TIAC, Mr Charles Morgan, on Thursday, 3 February 2011. (3) One member has resigned. (4) Consultation of suitable individuals will occur in accordance with the requirements of the Industry and Technology Development Act 1998 and an appointment will then be decided through the cabinet process. (5) The state government is strongly committed to science and innovation and is considering proposals through the budget process.
