Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:
I refer to question
without notice 1013 asked in the Legislative Council on 17 September 2015, and
in particular the answer to question (4).
(1) Has the Department of Aboriginal Affairs
review group concluded its work in reviewing the status of the 35 heritage
places?
(2) If no to (1),
when will it conclude its work?
(3) If yes to (1),
what were the recommendations of the group and will the minister table the
findings?
(4) If yes to (1), has the Department of
Aboriginal Affairs taken the 35 heritage places back to the Aboriginal Cultural
Material Committee for reassessment?
(5) If no to (4),
why not?

(1) No.
(2) The review
of the 35 sites is being progressed as a priority by the Department of
Aboriginal Affairs. This is a complex process involving considerable
consultation to ensure procedural fairness.
(3)–(5) Not applicable.
