VEHICLE INSPECTION SERVICES
Further to answer to question without notice 391 provided on 5 June 2007, will the minister advise - (1) How many vehicles are estimated to be inspected by the Royal Automobile Club as part of the six-month trial? (2) How many vehicles were inspected between the time the trial began on 2 July 2007 and 2 September 2007? (3) What revenue is this expected to generate for the RAC? (4) How much revenue does the minister believe the RAC would have accrued from these inspections from the time the trial began on 2 July 2007 to 2 September 2007? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

I am happy to provide the following response - (1)-(4) The RAC estimates that approximately 4 000 vehicles will be inspected by 2 January 2008 and advises that 625 vehicles have been inspected up to 29 August 2007. The RAC charges the gazetted scheduled fees, and it is calculated that the total to 29 August is $49 265.30.
