I refer to the cost of providing disability services, and I ask: (a) what is the average cost per service activity and the average cost per service user for accommodation support when it is provided by the Disability Service Commission; (b) what is the average cost per service activity and the average cost per service user for accommodation support when it is provided by disability sector organisations; (c) what is the average cost per service activity and the average cost per service user for community focussed supports when it is provided by the Disability Service Commission; (d) what is the average cost per service activity and the average cost per service user for community focussed supports when it is provided by disability sector organisations; (e) what is the average cost per service activity and the average cost per service user for co-ordination and individual support when it is provided by the Disability Service Commission; (f) what is the average cost per service activity and the average cost per service user for co-ordination and individual support when it is provided by the disability sector organisations; (g) what is the average cost per service activity and the average cost per service user for family support when it is provided by the Disability Service Commission; and (h) what is the average cost per service activity and the average cost per service user for family support when it is provided by the disability sector organisations?

It should be noted that the service areas referred to in answers (a) to (h) are high level 'umbrella' descriptions of a range of specific service types. The consequence is that differences between DSC and disability sector organisations (DSOs) on average cost in answers (a) to (h) do not reflect relative cost efficiencies. This is because DSC and DSOs concentrate on delivering different specific types of services under the service area heading. The observed differences in average cost thus reflect the different patterns in types of service offered by DSC and DSOs and their different associated costs, rather than any difference in relative service delivery efficiency.
