a) Yes
b) No, but as the Member is aware this Government recently announced construction of a new road over rail bridge as part of the Byford Rail extension, which will deliver substantial safety improvements on this section of Thomas Road, including the removal of the at-grade crossing; a shared path for cyclists and pedestrians; and a separate underpass to connect Butcher and Vlasich Roads.
i) The Tonkin Highway Extension project includes the intersection upgrade of Thomas Road and Tonkin Highway.
c) Traffic modelling has been undertaken for the proposed interchange of Thomas Road and Tonkin Highway. Traffic modelling for the Thomas Road over Rail section is currently being prepared.
i) A-B) In 2017/18 traffic volumes on Thomas Road, west of Hopkinson Road and east of Tonkin Highway, were at an average of 21,000 vehicles per day, 11.3 per cent of which were heavy vehicles.
ii) A cost is not currently available.
