Under the Fee-Free TAFE Skills Agreement with the Federal Government, the State Government designates fee-free courses in priority areas including the care sector; technology and digital; hospitality and tourism; construction; agriculture; and sovereign capability, such as manufacturing and defence.
The Fee Free TAFE course list is informed by current and future skills needs across the economy. Seven building and construction courses were added to the list in 2025. A further seven have been added for 2026.
