I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
I am checking that the number is
1272. The first part of the member's question is different from what is
on my page, but I will answer the question as printed.
On behalf of the Minister for
Energy, I provide the following answer.
(1) The number was 593.
(2) Yes.
(3) Western Power ran two international campaigns
targeting hard-to-fill roles. For the trades-based roles— lineworkers
and cable jointers—a social media campaign targeted New Zealand and the
east coast of Australia. For senior specialist engineers and technicians,
targeted campaigns for some skill sets were done primarily through a recruitment
agency and job advertising. That campaign was focused on the United Kingdom.
