I refer to the Minister’s media release of 18 January 2011 headlined ‘Vital release of Stage 2 Land in South Hedland’, and I ask:
(a) how many blocks of land have been completed for occupation by housing units in the 47 hectare of land referred to in the Minister’s release;
(b) how many of the 16 dwellings for Foundation Housing Ltd have been completed for occupation by residents;
(c) how many of the 14 dwellings for YMCA of Perth Inc have been completed for occupation by residents;
(d) how many of the 3 dwellings for Youth Involvement Council Inc have been completed for occupation by residents;
(e) are any other residential blocks to be made available from the 47 hectares of land referred to by the Minister;
(f) what other organisations have been awarded this land;
(g) how many houses are completed for occupation by residents in these blocks;
(h) how many houses for key worker accommodation have been completed for occupation on this 47 hectares, in addition to houses provided by Foundation Housing Ltd, YMCA of Perth Inc and Youth Involvement Council Inc;
(i) how does the Minister define a key worker;
(j) what mechanism has the Minister created to ensure accommodation is only made available to key workers; and
(k) how many houses for indigenous people accommodation have been completed for occupation on this 47 hectares, in addition to houses provided by Foundation Housing Ltd, YMCA of Perth Inc and Youth Involvement Council Inc?

(a) Planning and other approvals are required before development can commence.
(b) Conceptual plans have been prepared as the basis for advancing the development.
(c) The developer is currently seeking market confirmation of its costs in order to finalise its Development Application.
(d) Once approvals and funding are in place there is about a six month construction period.
(e) Yes.
(f) The other sites have not yet been awarded.
(g) Refer to response to (f)

(i) Someone who is in a job designated as providing an essential service to the community and due to income constraints requires assistance in finding suitably priced accommodation and may still be eligible for government rental assistance; and provides services to the broader community and not directly or largely to resource sector clients.
