I refer to answers provided in Legislative Assembly Budget Estimates, in response to questions in relation to average wait times for practical drivers tests, in which it was explained that "the short answer is that it is a live system and it depends on what class of vehicle people want to book for, so we cannot report an average wait time", and I ask: (a) how many practical drivers tests in the 2024-25 financial year took place: (i) within 28 days of the booking of a practical drivers test; (ii) within 56 days of the booking of a practical drivers test; (iii) within 84 days of the booking of a practical drivers test; and (iv) 85 days after the booking of a practical drivers test, or later; and (b) what are the comparable figures for the data in (a), for the year 2018-19?

(a) In 2024-25, 134,022 Practical Driving Assessments were conducted for all vehicle classes in the metropolitan area.
(i) 113,316
(ii) 14,979
(iii) 3,569
(iv) 2,158
(b) In 2018-19, 109,940 Practical Driving As were conducted for all vehicle classes in the metropolitan area.
(i) 77,302
(ii) 14,566
(iii) 7,065
(iv) 11,007
Practical Driving Assessment (PDA) wait times cannot be used as a KPI because they are not a fixed metric and are heavily influenced by external factors such as customer behaviour. Candidates have the flexibility to book a PDA well in advance or choose the earliest available slot. This variability makes it challenging to define a consistent or meaningful KPI based on wait time.
