The following answer
has been provided to me by the Minister for Defence Industries.
(1)–(3) Nuclear-powered submarines have
been visiting Western Australia since July 1993. State government plans for
radiation escape from a nuclear-powered warship are detailed in accordance with
the state hazard plan, HAZMAT Annex A: Radiation
Escape from a Nuclear Powered Warship (NPW) . This is a publicly
available document. The federal government of Australia is the responsible
authority for defence matters. Questions related to defence matters should be
addressed to the Minister for Defence
