directorate within the Building, Energy Safety, and Service Delivery Group at
the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety as it
applies to the licensing of electricians.
(1) How many apprentice-to-electrician
licence applications have been finalised for each of the previous five
financial years ending in 2024–25?
(2) How many apprentice-to-electrician
licence applications have been finalised in the current financial year?
(3) What is the median time for
processing an apprentice-to-electrician licence application currently?
(4) How many apprentice-to-electrician
licence applications are presently outstanding and what is being done to
expedite this backlog?

(1) In 2020–21 there were 675; in 2021–22,
871; in 2022–23, 829; in 2023–24, 830; and in 2024–25, 1,079.
(2) It was 1,233.
(3) The current median number of business
days is 32.
(4) It is 144.
(5) A comprehensive suite of business
improvement initiatives are underway to improve the efficiency, accuracy and
timeliness of electrical training licence processing.
