The Regional Centres Development Plan (RCDP) is a State Government initiative, to strengthen the capability of major Regional Centres and Sub-regional Centres (SuperTowns) to grow business, investment and jobs to support resilient and prosperous regional economies and communities.
The South West Regional Blueprint (2014) provides the overarching strategic guidance for the growth of the South West region, which includes two Regional Centres (Greater Bunbury and Busselton) and three Sub-Regional Centres (Collie, Manjimup and Margaret River).
The South West Regional Blueprint identifies the growth of Greater Bunbury as a regional priority, and provides a key strategic foundation document for the Greater Bunbury Growth Plan currently being developed under the RCDP.
The aim of a Growth Plan is to strengthen a Regional Centre’s strategic positioning, attract business and investment, support the growth of competitive industries, and build a better place to live for existing and new residents.
The Greater Bunbury Growth Plan is a socio-economic development strategy that addresses Bunbury and its economic activity area, and provides a vehicle for communities to set the direction for their future growth. This is consistent with, and complementary to, the South West Regional Blueprint.
The Greater Bunbury Growth Plan is currently under development and due to be finalised toward the end of November, 2016.
