(a) can the Minister advise what specific advice the EPA Services Unit provided to the EPA to support the statement that large open pit mines are not desirable close to residences and the EPA believes that future planning of similar developments must consider the impacts to local communities and ensure appropriate separation; and
(i) if no to (a), why not;

(ii) if yes to (b), will the Minister explain why; and
