This is a tough one today! Further to question without notice 851 of Wednesday, 9 November 2005, why was the small amount of funding needed to map across the old curriculum from the watch and clockmaking course to a new course not provided? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

I thank the member very much for a question of which some notice has been given. As outlined in the response to question without notice 851, the old accredited course, certificate II, was superseded by a new training package, certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade MEM30298, as a result of the Training Accreditation Council requirements and in compliance with the Australian Quality Training Framework Standards. Therefore, it could not have been mapped across easily.
