(1)–(3)
From my recollection, not all that long ago quite a long lease was granted by
the City of Perth to the lessees of the restaurant in the Florence Hummerston
building. With the government's decision to go ahead with the Elizabeth
Quay project, there was clearly a need to bring that lease to an end.
Negotiations were underway. I am not sure whether they had been concluded; they
may well have been, but I will seek an update on that. I am not sure what the
final settlement amount is but I will also seek information about that. Given
that a lease was in place in the Florence Hummerston building —
Mrs M.H. Roberts :
Will you give that information to the house; that is, the amount?
Mr J.H.D. DAY : I
do not see why not. It is information that should be made publicly available.
The Florence Hummerston building will be relocated and reconstructed on the
island in the Elizabeth Quay inlet. It is an important aspect of the major
redevelopment and transformation of that part of the city of Perth.
