MARBLE BAR ROAD —
MAINTENANCE
541. Hon KEN BASTON to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer to the condition of the
unsealed sections of the Marble Bar Road between Newman and Marble Bar.
(1) Is an ongoing
and regular maintenance contract currently in place for this section of road?
(2) If yes to
(1), how often is the road inspected and maintained?
(3) On what date
was that section of road last graded?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Yes. Binbirri
Pty Ltd is currently undertaking unsealed road maintenance.
(2) The road is
inspected at least monthly by a Main Roads Western Australia inspector, who
then issues a works order to Binbirri with the areas that require grading.
(3) Works were
undertaken on the road last month. In addition, a crew is currently on site
undertaking maintenance grading between Nullagine and Roy Hill.
