I refer to the Premier's
announcement of 2 March regarding the establishment of a new unit within the
Department of State Development.
(1) What is the total value of Mr
Rob Delane's salary package and what does it include?
(2) How many staff will be employed
in the office and what role will each of them carry out?
(3) What is the
budget allocation for the new unit in this current financial year and the 2016–17
financial year?
(4) How will the
work of this unit differ from that being done by the new trade office announced
on 3 March by the Minister for Regional Development?

(1) Mr Delane
retains his existing entitlements under a package determined by the Salary and
Allowances Tribunal. As at 23 June 2015, his annual salary was $299 656.
(2)–(3) These arrangements
are yet to be determined.
(4) As outlined
in the Premier's media statement of 2 March 2016, Mr Delane will focus
on enhancing the government's efforts in export market development and
foreign investment attraction, as well as on offering support to major
agriculture and associated infrastructure projects.
