1046. Hon TJORN SIBMA to the minister representing the
Minister for Environment:
I refer to the temporary suspension
of invoicing part IV Environmental Protection Act environmental assessments.
(1) When was this
operational decision made in the Department of Water and Environmental
Regulation and by whom?
(2) When was the minister advised?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by
the Minister for Environment.
(1)–(2) The department is responsible for making
operational decisions regarding the allocation of its resources. The department
temporarily suspended invoicing in quarter 4 of the 2021–22 financial
year. As per responses to earlier questions, normal invoicing processes will
resume shortly and no government revenue will be foregone.
