I refer to the Premier’s comments in Parliament yesterday when he stated - I am very disappointed that the perception that the minister may have a conflict of interest in this matter was not raised before. It certainly was not raised with me as Premier. Given that the Moore River Company first wrote to the Premier on this matter on 21 February 2005 and again on 16 March 2005, when it wrote - Unfortunately it - That being the Premier’s letter of reply - does not address the serious issues raised by us . . . it does not address our concerns about . . . the partiality of the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure. Will the Premier now apologise for misleading the Parliament and will he explain why his statement yesterday was absolutely false? Dr G.I. GALLOP

The debate yesterday was about the issue of Highgate; that was the issue that was raised yesterday. That matter has never been raised with me. The issue that was raised in the letters that came to us was a policy question in respect of not only the minister but also the Western Australian Planning Commission and others that were looking at this issue. The member knows that the opposition raised yesterday the issue of Highgate politics from many years ago. That was the matter the opposition was raising in the Parliament, and that matter has never been raised with me in respect of this issue.
