DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING — PENSIONER
UNITS — 23 GREENOAKS GARDEN, BALLAJURA
503. Ms R. SAFFIOTI to the Minister for Housing:
As a supplementary question, given
that the three strikes were issued on 8 June—I know that it is a
difficult situation—can the minister guarantee that some action will be
taken in the next week?

AnswerView source ↗

The guarantee that I can give the
member is that we have a strong three-strikes policy and that policy is enacted
in all circumstances when the issues are substantiated. What the member is
telling me is quite right; the issues have been substantiated. It still remains
before the court for a decision and a case to be presented to say that this
person will be evicted, which is a fairly big step to take. There are merits
that would suggest to me that this case has the foundation of getting to that
end point. I need to get an understanding of exactly where it is at now. I am
undertaking to get back to the member about this issue.
