I refer to recommendation six of report 12, of the Standing Committee on Estimates and Financial Operations into the Balga Works Program, where it stated, ‘The Committee recommends that the Department of Education and Training develop written policies and guidelines for due diligence checks that are to be undertaken by a school when engaging a private service provider. This includes ensuring the private provider has processes in place to ensure that the staff hired by the private provider is appropriately qualified’, and ask -
(1) Have you instructed the Department of Education and Training to develop written policies and guidelines for due diligence checks that are to be undertaken by a school when engaging a private service provider, which includes ensuring the private provider, has processes in place to ensure that the staff hired by the private provider are appropriately qualified?
(2) If no to (1), given that as a committee member you supported this recommendation and now as the Minister you have the power to implement it, why not?
(3) If yes to (1), have you received the investigation findings?
(4) Will you table them in this place at the next day’s sitting?
(5) If no to (4), why not?
