EQUAL
OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION — AGE DISCRIMINATION
915. Ms M.M. QUIRK to the
Minister for Seniors and Volunteering:
I have a supplementary question. As Minister for Seniors and
Volunteering, what has the member personally done to assist in addressing
discrimination against older people seeking employment?

AnswerView source ↗

This government has been very, very supportive of seniors. We
have done a raft of things since coming into government in 2008. The most
important thing is to make sure that we speak about elder abuse and
discrimination. The most important thing that we can do to support seniors is
to have this conversation in this chamber and make sure that we make seniorsXXX ###XXX participation in the workforce more
visible in our community.
