In reference to the Joint Venture Community Housing Program in respect of regional local government authorities, I ask:
(a) will the Department of Housing be entering into any new joint ventures with the regional shire councils; and
(i) if yes, please outline these joint ventures; and
(ii) if no, why not; and
(b) in the absence of future joint ventures, will the Department of Housing be offering regional local government authorities, especially smaller authorities in the Wheatbelt, any State assistance to ensure that there is enough community housing for the people of these areas; and
(i) if not, why not?

(a)-(b) The Department of Housing remains committed to pursuing opportunities to partner with local government to increase the supply of affordable housing throughout Western Australia. The Department will be keen to support projects where combining with a local government contribution can maximise the benefits achieved from the Government's housing investment.
