344. Mr BROWN to the Premier:
(1) Is the Premier aware of an article that appeared in The West Australian newspaper on Tuesday, 18 July 2000 concerning the member for Riverton wanting to become the Liberal Party Deputy Premier after the next State election?
(2) Does the Government intend to spend more taxpayers money on political advertising promoting the talents of the member for Riverton in the leadup to the election?
(3) If so, why?
(4) Will the Premier guarantee that no taxpayers money will be spent on promoting the member for Riverton over the changes he made to the workers compensation system which have increased premiums over 300% in some cases?
(5) Will the Premier guarantee that no money will be spent on promoting the member for Riverton over the changes he made to industrial legislation which have seen, according to the Commissioner for Workplace Agreements, some 25% of those on workplace agreements worse off compared to what they would have received under awards?
(6) Will the Premier also guarantee that no taxpayers money will be spent on promoting the member for Riverton in the way in which he has dealt with public servants and Government officers when he was the Minister for Health?
(7) Is it true that in promoting the member for Riverton as the Deputy Liberal Party leader, the Government wishes to create for itself an image reflective of the member for Riverton's style?
