(1) Is the Office of Crime Prevention insisting that Local Government Councils enter into a Community Safety and Crime Prevention Partnership in order to access a State Crime Audit prepared by UWA?
(2) Does the Premier support this action?
(3) If so, what are his reasons?
(4) How many Government Members have been asked to write to their Local Government Councils to express the concern of constituents in their area regarding crime, shortly after the Office of Crime Prevention has presented their proposal to enter into a Partnership?
(5) How many Councils has Michael Thorn written to since those Councils indicated they would not enter into a partnership?
(6) Will the Premier table those letters?
(7) If not, why not?
(8) How many Councils has Michael Thorn threatened will lose or jeopardise crime prevention funding if they do not enter into a partnership with the Office of Crime Prevention?
(9) Will the Premier table the State Crime Audit that has been paid for by taxpayers?

(4) I am not aware of any member being asked to write to local governments, however, the Hon Member should direct his enquiry to individual members to determine whether they have undertaken that action. (5) Mr Thorn regularly corresponds with Councils including those that have not yet entered into a partnership. The Minister for Community Safety and the Director of Crime Prevention have written to all Local Governments about this new approach. (6)-(7) I am happy to table copies of letters if the Member can be more precise about the Councils in which he is interested. (8) None. (9) See (1) above.
