I refer to the Attorney General’s comments in this house last week when he was asked about the involvement of the Minister for Disability Services in the framing of the Mickelberg brothers by Detectives Lewandowski and Hancock. He said - What did Tony Lewandowski say about this matter when he was alive? I will read what was said straight from the horse’s mouth - No-one else had any involvement or knowledge of what we did. I further refer the Attorney General to the comments of Tony Lewandowski’s mother in the Sunday Times of 18 September, in which she said that her son had spoken to her many times about the involvement of Bob Kucera, but that he did not want to say anything publicly that would cause Bob Kucera trouble. I further refer to the revelations by author Avon Lovell, who helped Lewandowski prepare his original affidavit. He said in the Sunday Times that Lewandowski had told him repeatedly - It was pre-planned, a set-up - and Kucera knew that. In light of these extremely credible and serious revelations, does the Attorney General stand by the statement he made last week that the Minister for Disability Services had no involvement in or knowledge of the framing of the Mickelberg brothers? Mr J.A. McGINTY

Yes. For the information of members, it is my understanding that the Corruption and Crime Commission will this afternoon release the evidence that was given by Mr Tony Lewandowski to the police royal commission, pursuant to its powers. I am sure that the Leader of the Opposition will find it very interesting reading.
