(1) What are the results of the baseline data collection undertaken in February and March 2005, as part of the Aboriginal Literacy Strategy?
(2) Will the Minister make this available so that Members and the public can see what improvements the ALS achieves this school year?
(3) What objective or independent testing is involved in the gathering of baseline data to achieve objective assessments of each student’s level of achievement?

(2) No. Baseline data is held by schools for diagnostic application by teachers. (3) The Western Australian Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (WALNA) testing program conducted each year among all students in years 3, 5, 7 plus in the Monitoring Standards in Education Year 9 (MSE9) testing program.
