I refer to the
Australasian triage scale categories 1 to 5, the webpage for Hedland Health
Campus emergency statistics, and the attendance of Ms Dhu at the Hedland Health
Campus.
(1) On each of the occasions that Ms Dhu
presented at the Hedland Health Campus, was she seen by the triage unit?
(2) If no to (1),
why not?
(3) On each occasion
were clinical notes taken and passed on to the emergency department?
(4) If no to (3),
why not?
(5) If yes to (1), which of the five
categories of the ATS were attributed to Ms Dhu on each presentation?
(6) If yes to (1), what was the average
triage wait time for the relevant category at each of Ms Dhu's
presentations before she was called into the emergency department for
evaluation?

question. The following information has been provided to me by the Minister for
Health —
(1) No. Ms Dhu
was appropriately seen by the triage unit at the Hedland Health Campus
emergency department on 2 and 3 August 2014. On 4 August 2014, Ms Dhu was
appropriately taken immediately to the resuscitation area, bypassing triage.
(2) On 4 August 2014 Ms Dhu required immediate attention in
the resuscitation area.
(3) Yes.
(4) Not applicable.
(5) On
presentation to emergency department on 2 August 2014, it was ATS 4; on
presentation to emergency department on 3 August 2014, it was ATS 4; on
presentation to emergency department on 4 August 2014, Ms Dhu received
treatment appropriate with ATS 1.
(6) Data
analysis is required to determine average wait times on these dates and is not
available within the time frame of this question without notice.
