FORREST HIGHWAY — INVASIVE WEEDS
1229. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) Is the
Minister for Transport aware of the spread and prevalence of invasive weeds
such as euphorbia, Arum lily and cape tulip on sections of Forrest Highway?
(2) Has roadside mowing sped up the
spread of these weeds?
(3) What is
being done to prevent these weeds infesting large stretches of land along the highway
route?
(4) How much
was spent on weed containment in these areas in 2013–14 and how much is
projected to be spent in 2014–15?
(5) Is any
public involvement being sought in the reporting, monitoring and/or containment
of these weeds?
