I refer to the Minister's statement to the Parliament on 19 February 2014 in response to comments made by Senator Sue Lines regarding the destructive behaviour strategy where he states "that the three-strike policy has forced 2,000 Aboriginal children out of their homes. That is very misleading", and I ask: (a) from what information can the Minister ascertain that 2,000 children have not been made homeless as a result of the State government's destructive behaviour strategy; and (b) given the Minister denies that 2,000 children have been made homeless, can the Minister please advise the total number of children who have been forced out of their homes since the commencement of the State government's destructive behaviour strategy?

The Department of Housing advises that, as at 30 September 2014,
215
tenancies have been vacated due to legal action being progressed as a result of the Disruptive Behaviour Management Strategy. The Department is unable to provide the Member with the number of children declared as residing in each of these properties without diverting significant resources to audit each tenancy.
With 215 tenancies evicted through DBMS there would need to be an average of 9 children at each of those properties. That is not the case.
